We're a sister business to Abbey River Coffee, who have been slinging out shots of espresso and good vibes from our little stone building in Merchant's Quay since 2017. In 2021, we took our love of coffee to the next level and began roasting our own specialty coffee.

In 2023, we're re-branded the roastery side of the business from Abbey River Coffee Roastery to Siege Coffee Company. Our beloved Abbey River Coffee stayed the same. We also open a specialty coffee shop in Colbert Station later that year and have been flying it ever since!

In 2025, we upgraded from a 2kg Mill City Roaster to a Giesen W6A and we are in love!
We would describe ourselves as artisan coffee roasters, in that every step of the roast, such as gas & airflow settings are adjusted manually, ensuring we have full control over the roasting process. Each batch is cupped (tasted) to ensure we've roasted the coffee to it's fullest potential.

We work with green coffee suppliers that work directly with farmers & co-ops that prioritise ethical and sustainable production while also ensuring farmers get the best price possible. Where possible, we work with Irish based green coffee suppliers which helps reduce GHG emissions from the transportation of the coffee.

Our loyalty card scheme in aid of Jigsaw has allowed us to donate over €3000 in both of our shops since 2021. As well as helping Jigsaw carry out their fantastic work, our customers can take a daily mindful moment to think about their own mental health and the people around them who may be struggling too.
